Print Materials – WA County Museum's 25th Annual Gala
Work included completely redesigning previous program, new fonts, proper use of styles, professional typesetting, re-work of various logos and ads, logo creation, photo touchup, layout.
Collaborative Work
This is the second year I worked on the Washington County Museum’s Gala invitation, program and other print materials. Once gain I worked collaboratively with Barbara Mason, one of the Museum’s many heroines, and also at the time, still the Board Secretary. She set the tone and feel, nodded approvingly, or disapprovingly at times, and guided the process through my hands.
We were on a schedule to produce the following: Save the Date, Invitation, Reply Card, Bid Card, the Full Program for the Gala, and the Live Auction PowerPoint presentation.
The color palette is simple, elegant: black, gray/silver (metallic spot), and blue.
Save the Date Postcard

Invitation Card (folded with map on back, detail on inside), Reply Card, and envelope
The darker gray was actually a nice metallic paper

Reply Card

Envelope was a silky metallic silver, black text

Full Program
The program was completed over a period of weeks, short visits with Barb as the content all came together. We were still receiving auction item detail right up to the deadline. Many ads were re-built from scratch based on the old program. The CF Logo and the add for CF Plastics was a side job for me (see page 7). Turns out Barb's family company, CF Plastics, had never had need for a logo until now. So I ginned one up, along with the ad, in time for inclusion in the program.
The overall work, of course, and the core strength of this piece is the layout and attention to detail given to fitting and typesetting. Everything is template-ready, all type has paragraph and character styles applied accordingly. The next program will be considerably less time-intensive.
